Background: Fernando Garcia is the General Counsel for Nissan Canada Inc. and Infiniti Canada. In this capacity, Fernando is responsible for managing the Canadian legal department and providing legal advice relating to Nissan and Infiniti’s operations across all levels of the company. The legal department consists of six legal professionals and is responsible for all contract, litigation, government affairs, and regulatory matters relating to Nissan and Infiniti Canada’s sales and marketing operations in Canada.   

Education: Fernando Garcia holds a B.A in Labour Studies  (1999), a Masters of Industrial Relations (Human Resources, 2001), a Civil and Common law degree (LLB and BCL, 2004) and, most recently, a Masters of Business Administration degree, with a focus on strategic management, taken on a part-time basis (2014).

Awards: Iin June of 2015, Fernando was named as “Tomorrow’s Leader” at the Canadian General Counsel Awards organized by the National Post and ZSA. In July of 2015, he was also named as one of the “10 Most Influential Hispanic Canadians” by Canadian Hispanic Business Alliance (  Fernando was also recognized by Women of Influence Magazine as one of the 2011 and 2012 Canadian Diversity Champions.
